While the rest of the world seems to be away on holiday we are living in our building site of a home. Indeed we have sandy beach – like conditions as the pile on our driveway seems to get everywhere !

Our builders have also been on holiday – a cruise . How lovely. For them.

Mr max fax has been on holiday – Cornwall.

Mrs Restorative too – to France but dangerously near the fires.

Now they are gradually returning and trying to communicate with each other.

Meanwhile I was told to ring PALS to request the CT imaging from July to be sent to Mrs Restorative. A very nice lady told me she would try. In addition she gave me a phone number for the waiting list team. Wow what power. I rang that number. A very nice lady told me I’d been booked for urgent surgery to remove the plates which had been put into my jaw in October. She said it was urgent but that the waiting list was very long. Then somehow she decided I had been waiting 45 weeks. ( I haven’t) that is maybe since October ? Long and short of it is she will now fast track operation date to end of August. Organise pre assessment for – tomorrow and she will be in touch.

Now that is all amazing. But I have a niggling worry that had I not rung would nothing have happened ? I have somehow jumped the queue. Some poor person out there still waiting hsent got the magic number.

This of course may not even happen – the operating theatre staff are on strike. I don’t think therefore that the surgery will go ahead. Meanwhile the anaesthetic team always need to do their own checks and that is never straight forward.

Meanwhile munching antibiotics for uti and awaiting appointment with specialist down in Reading. In September.

Jérôme has sent script for a new stuff but the lovely pharmacist here has paused that on account of we are not sure how to administer and prohibitive cost. Maybe NHS can assist. I’m trying to find out.

Nothing from Dipstick and his MDT décision on gent / iauril. Let’s not hold our breath on that one!
