After getting home from the brief foray into Cornwall we drove back…uncomfortable but cool. The kidney was beginning to grumble. Swallowing the meds I hoped to get fit enough for a trip to Wembley. A present for Daniel from last year. We decided to go not least because we could use his work flat in Harrow ie only 10 minutes away. Whitty would surely approve.
The heavens opened. We got very wet but who cares it was absolutely amazing to be in Wembley. To hear Chris Martin to sit back and enjoy the whole spectacle. Fix you. Yellow. Stars. Lights. Fireworks. Paradise!
No sooner had we got home than Daughter 1 was in A and E, her children needed caring for and for the next 10 days utter chaos erupted. In the midst of this was the very sad, very shocking, sudden death of my friend Mira. Her poor family totally overwhelmingly saddened. Some stayed here for a while and then this week was the funeral. The number of doctors, nurses and nhs teams from across the uk was huge. Amongst them some who have looked after me. Mr urology GOD of all surgeons too. He was keen to chat but I diverted ! The funeral then, was a tribute, a celebration of a life in paediatrics, children everywhere have been cared for and loved by Mira. From the Marsden to Bedford. I first met her when our youngest ‘BFG’was blue lighted into her ward. She was so calm, practical logical. Once we realised our sons were in the same year at school we soon stood on touch lines together. She was always having to run onto the pitch to tend some poor injured child. We set up a Prosecco club with our friend Vicky. Our local pub had half price on Thursdays at 18:00. So we used to arrive at 17:30. But pay after 6. Update each other on our families and be home in time to fix supper. We raise our glass to you Mira. Hopefully you’ve found a half price Prosecco in that sky full of stars!

Oh how SAD for you all m turning Mira… and I hope Harry is out of hospital and ok, and you are not fully committed to childcare for the boys.
Mira would surely approve you went to Wembley, like Prof Whitty would and so do I. And in the rain.
Isn’t life ‘random’ as they say. All the more reason to enjoy every minute but you are the lead example of that. xx I salute you Mira and light my candle. Jacq’s friends are my friends or as they say in Spain ‘mi casa e su casa’. xx
