Tired Teared Tiered

We’ve had some sad Christmas’ and somehow that helps this year.
Friday we were Covid Tier2. Saturday Tier 3. Sunday Tier 4.
The rules are to stay home. Christmas is cancelled.

I’ve sorted my worries: courier took presents to London.
Parents, I’ll do a fly by tomorrow.
Food will have to get frozen.
The rest is on a list of things to cancel.

Dipstick rang today. One hour later than advertised. Asked me when I’d had SPC removed. I forebore from shouting at him to at least read his notes. Surely he had some idea I was under his care in hospital?

He told me there was an MDT about me and the decision to renew my SNS bladder implant. Oh woo. But he’s clearly forgotten I already knew that.

As a special treat he said the op will be April. Ah. I tried to sound grateful.

But as of today, he said, all elective surgery is cancelled. So that means it will not be April.

What next I asked.

Just ring the hospital when you get an infection. Ask for urology on call. Covid means you have to go through AandE

As if. After last time that’s the last thing I’ll do.

I tried to ask how this all works. What does he do all day?. Emergencies he said. The bit I don’t get, that’s not me trying to speed my own case up, is if they only do emergencies what are they doing the rest of the time. Or are there more emergencies than usual?. Urology is in a covid free site. A and E is covid full site.

Meanwhile the mutation of the virus means the world is shutting borders to UK.
Virologists here don’t think the new strain is more contagious, just that people aren’t sticking to the rules (someone please tell Europe that!)
It seems that the strain is all over Europe but we’re the only country that look at genomics UK scientists says so.

But glimmers of hope. HURRAH vaccine 1 received by my parents. 2nd booster in 3 weeks. That’s good. Roll on 2021. Roll on vaccine. Well done those scientists.

Christmas can be a bit rubbish . There’s usually something good though. Let’s get through this one. We have before.
Thinking of everyone of you …be ok.

  1. God that hopeless man. How do you manage to speak calmly to him. I hope things will change again but for the better so the op will go ahead as planned. Meanwhile stay good and free from all this sh**over Christmas -awesome woman xxx

  2. I’m so frustrated for you Jacq. Sounds to me like Dipstick and his team need a kick up the arse! The vaccine is a fairly big light but it’s at the end of a very, very long, very dark tunnel. We will get through this and I hope we learn something from it but I fear we’re a long way from the end. My lesson: I won’t be ordering food in advance! Love you lots, Cxx
