News update:

Spent so long at hospital last week. . Long wait ( two hours) then saw the surgeon I call Max Fax 1. Ie the specialist. He did good check up, made some adjustments to the wires and elastics. Determined where nerve endings still numb. Reassured I will get feeling in my face back. Etc etc.

Then I tentatively said I was concerned about the way the money etc had been handled. He had no idea. He’s apoplectic. I spent some time going over it. Showed him the emails. Then he got me to send them to his personal email. There’s going to be big boof . He couldn’t stop apologising and saying anything I needed wanted …just to contact him. He says he’s not sure who or why the emails were sent. But he will find out. He said a couple of other patients had mentioned being harassed for money. He’s avowed to sort it. Reputation Professionlity and above all else patient care above cash. Wow. Oh and he will be looking after me for at least the year ahead.

I then suggested he tell his team to sort Patient Decision Aids ( PDAs) to guide patients pre surgery. He agreed. Nutritionist should be involved post surgery. Agreed. Direct ward number post discharge. Discharge TTO’s should be soluble etc painkillers for those after mouth surgery.

All agreed. We’ve made a plan. Things have to be better for future patients. All of a sudden we’re sorting this crap out.
