Dear J
Damn good job, my girl. You really are terrific. Unfortuntely I didn’t catch you broadcast – breakfast for me starts at 11.00 am – but I am sure you were great.
I have become a patron of the Continence Association – this is my patron’s profile which I sent them last night:
….. has an in-dwelling supra-pubic catheter and has suffered long-term and recurrent bladder infections. … has now reached just about the last line of antibiotic defence – gentamicin – and would really like to stay alive a little longer. …column has described incontinence as the NHS’s hidden scandal and campaigns for increased resources and research into treatment. ….
We may achieve nothing, but no one can say we never tried.
warm wishes Melanie

Dear Melanie
Fabulous awesomeness you. Hurrrrah.
Patron of ACA that’s excellent. I’m so delighted. That’ll be such a help.
WE Will Get this a high profile we can achieve ! Gentamicin our friend and foe. I’ll tell Jerome , who puts the Logical into Uro Logical Surgeon, that he’s helped two of us! It’s saved me the last few days of direness horrible infection. I’m doing gent in bladder cipro in mouth to keep going somehow.
I have been invited to speak to CliniciansScotland . Help!. I have a rude story to start it all off, if I dare.
It’s about an erudite colleague who insisted on seeing me after a long Education Research Evidence base event. She was so hilarious. Picture a 70 + ish very academic looking professor. Congratulated me on my TV appearance. Said she’d started using NHS ‘Mr Squeezy ‘ app for pelvic floor after her own issues … .Demonstrated said app to my
colleagues. Got them all doing it too. Me trying to slink away! Others started confessing their own bladder issues…. she then announced she’d got her husband to start doing same ‘Mr Squeezy’! To my horror she then announced it had improved their intimate life considerably. Arghhhhhh. I better stick to teaching!! The words she actually used I cannot repeat! My teaching colleagues most impressed!
Hope the windy storm has not hit up North
