Physics

After all the fuss and bothersomeness of the last two years…today not one but two MRIs. The team of six that it took from 9:00am to 15:00 to do all this were brilliant.

NHS in face to face contact is unbeatable. Two reps from Nevro the spinal implant company. Two Clinical Scientists in MRI physics. Nurses two and I guess behind the machines more.

They were kind. Funny and best of all decided best to let expert, as in patient,me, show them how the implants work. How to get the model numbers. MRI activation deactivation and all the rest done.

Mr physics was fascinated to know how long the implants work before charging, how to get through airport security. How to charge…..We also pondered the story of the man in the States who had got caught up in the MRI machine due to his necklace. He unfortunately did not survive to explain. It would not happen in UK I am told! We chatted about cricket ( #Hero one armed Woakes). About Vauxhall the Oval which naturally led to newest Grandson. Mr Physics and I discussed the need for zips not buttons. In baby grows. I hasten to add.

Percentiles – his son was in 90th I think BFG new born must be 99th! Mr Radiation Protection and Imaging Physics was as tall as BFG.

A long day but the most thorough MRI I have ever had. Let’s hope the next thing is an appointment with Dipstick or his equivalent. maybe the much promised Dr Microbiology might be persuaded to sort some iv at home antibiotics. As before this has worked well. They put a line in. Give me the stuff. Check I can do it. Then I self infuse all the drugs myself.

No sign of any further appointments yet.

NHS actually can be could be might be excellent.
