This blog is really meant to be about my own medical stuff, inevitably I am affected by others not least my own family.
Last week Daughter 1 was knocked off her bike by Mr White Van driver. After last week’s And E she was discharged. But having deteriorated over the weekend, she was readmitted to hospital. Via And E. . Strapped to a scoop. Strapped to a head block. Me by her side. Listening. Worrying. Keeping my recently stapled back as straight as possible.
She was moved to the stroke ward. What an incredible place. So many patients. Wonderful Nurses. Physios. Therapists. Absolutely amazing. Sadly the lady in the bed next to D1 didn’t make it through the night. Stirring up emotive stuff from last year and my parents. After fantastic care empathy and every scan available , D1 eventually got discharged. No stroke phew. Big concussion long recovery .
Meanwhile Daughter 2 had her operation postponed, again.
It’s the elective procedures that get postponed. The emergencies get through.
As for me. Spine is getting better. Still having to not lift twist bend nor drive or even swim arghhh for another three weeks. No matter be ok.
Bladder is absolutely bonkers. I’ve sent samples everywhere. No results. No idea.
Knee has ballooned. But I need an MRI. But the pain stim team have to check the impedance to allow for MRI. But they don’t answer the phone. They don’t answer emails. It’s totally crap.
NHS physio has referred me back ‘Virtual NHS fracture clinic’ . Nothing has happened.
Private physio and surgeon have requested MRI. But as I’ve said we need NHS pain stim clinic to check for MRI. Catch 22. Round and round we go.
GP sent a message. You need urgent bloods. You haven’t been checked or scanned for over a year. CQC inspection has highlighted you!! Book appointment. Use this link. I tried. No appointments available.
Normally I can find something funny to say.
The only thing I can think of is the AandE again, names are called. No one answers. D1 and I counted 14 absentees. We laughed every time. Poor buggers they’ve died before treatment. It’s not funny because it’s maybe true!

Awful. So glad D1 is better but what about YOU?
