Heavenly

August …wherever did that go?

It’s a smorgasbord of nursing homes, falls, ambulances, palliative, deprivation of liberty….and a million other words which I never knew before.

That’s my parents’ story but bloody hell they are still alive and somehow or other kicking. It has been…let’s say effing grim and leave it at that. For now.

Meanwhile asthma clinic appointment London – futile.

Urology clinic appointment London – weirdly nuts.

MaxFax surgeon appointment,to get my consent to break my jaw, – cancelled. phew.

Infections….I am just bunging in anything and everything somehow got to train these bugs to be less crazy.

Then Wednesday a clash of appointments. Daughter one hospital appointment. Her children school holidays. Daniel golf. Me back to futile urology clinic in London. We solved the conundrum by my brother, over from Canada going to sit at the nursing home of dystopian queues for heaven. I took the grandchildren to London. The Urology nurse was apparently not in. The Gentamicin I was supposed to collect was not available. The blood test to check I had no gentamicin was quite prompt. Well of course it will not show any gentamicin. the extra syringes, dressing packs which contain gloves, wipes, orange bag sticky thing, and…a ruler(WTF?) were nowhere to be found. After an impromptu jam and cheese sandwich liberally sprinkled with popcorn, on the floor of the pharmacy , the boys ate their lunch for all the world as if they were sitting in a field of gold. No other miserable patient gave up their seats so we three sat crossed leggéd in the midst of chaos. Picnic finished little O announced it must be time to go. So we did! Actually found a cab, found the London Eye, joined the non existent queue and went slowly round. ( well it’d be rude not to.) We then jumped onto an Uber river boat to Tower Bridge. Tubed it to St Pancras and home by 6. What a result.

Whilst everyone slept that night I was being rung by paramedics, nursing home staff and doctors. Safeguarding. A new word added to my skill set. By one in the morning we had sorted most problems and sleep, that over-rated commodity just would not come.

Sunrise swim this morning then. Absolutely heavenly.

Now back to the dystopian heavenly queue…Groundhog Day.

I am probably rambling not making sense…..it’s the lack of sleep.
