What ever the nephrology prof has prescribed is actually dreadful. I’m not sure which drug it is but the pewkiness continues.
Where were we? Oh yes X’s batty relative was sectioned then released into the care of rapid response team. Who apparently visit and phone all day every day. Poor X absolutely terrified something awful will happen.
Rest of the week has been calm enough. Parents pretty much hanging on. I went over once I was back. They were in good spirits all things considered.
Friday Jerome had fixed an appointment for me to speak to a generalist. I think that means Consultant Physician. Oh my days. He was absolutely brilliant. Listening. Questioning. Querying. He has a plan which he is talking to Jerome about. He says the polypharmacy ie mixture of potions I’m on is ‘horrible’. “Was I pewky? was I headaches? Exhausted?” As I kept saying Yes he got the picture. Amazing man. Totally on message. Let’s hope he can sort the poly druggy whatever.
And then tonight I’ve been to a student’s Mehindi part of wedding.. Her wedding will be at the Islamic Mosque in Cambridge. She has just qualified as an accountant. I encouraged her from school to apprenticeship. Her mother makes us huge curries as a Thank-you for my teaching mentoring friendship. .
Back home now. What a night. Amazing.
. Family so hospitable welcoming. Such an honour. She’s marrying an accountant. Arranged but actually coincidentally knew him. She’s refused to live with his parents. So they’ve managed to get a flat. In
Birmingham.. Her sisters are all working for NHS nursing and one is medical student. I told her parents how brave they are. How lucky we are that these youngsters are working so blooming hard. They just smiled and hugged me time and time again. Good things happen. Night everyone.
