What could possibly go wrong!

It’s only Tuesday and already NHS land has hit.

GP refused to prescribe Jerome’s suggested instil.

Dipstick picked up an email from me enquiring if at all possible could do a script from NHS land. He forwarded that to various unknowns who replied they had no idea what he was talking about referring to or anything at all really. So that’s that buggered up.

Consultant Mrs Micro, was ringing yesterday for phone appointment at 15:15. No one rang me. It turns out she was off sick and the registrar was unable to ring. Then today he apparently rang but I have no message on my phone. I may indeed have been on another call. But somehow this is all my fault. Patients should sit by their phone. Keep the line clear. Night and day. Just in case. This is in fact the registrar who is supposed to ring every month re the new vaccine uromune. His trial, his data collection. But he has never rung.

Meanwhile it seems gentamicin is in short supply. As in chemist cannot source any at the moment.

Tuesday evening some-one rang on behalf of Mrs Micro . He was full of apologies and millions of questions but no answers. No change there then.

MRI Wednesday…what could possibly go wrong?

Wednesday MRI day. Actually nothing went wrong. Having done this 3 times now the Consultant of Physics or whatever he is was ready and waiting. He and I turned off the implants as no rep had arrived. He re-set the MRI machine and in I went. Slept through the hour on the table. Best morning off I’ve had all year!

Thursday took my mother to eye clinic. NHS land has given up on eyes, so they outsource to some private clinic in Northampton. Gum chewing receptionist pointed out that a. we were on time for the 12.40 appointment. b. Everyone was on a lunch break so we had to sit and wait. I hid on my phone whilst mum got crosser and crosser and as she cannot see very well couldn’t do much else. The big tv screen was going on about covid inquiries but she could neither see nor hear that. I ducked out and made myself look busy.

Friday Cannot remember a thing about Friday. Oh hang on. The lab lost the MSU.

Saturday. Back to Luton and Dunstable Max Fax clinic. Teeth wire had broken. Again. Traffic so bad I was late. But the clinic was running very late. Got re-wired and back home.

Sunday. Fixed washing machine. Unblocked the pump. It reminded me of indwelling catheters slowly draining down before removing the bung thingy. Unfortunately I inadvertently knocked inlet pipe. Wow the cascading water was quite a sight. Stopcock was impenetrable… the
