Born in the car park

This time last year my eldest grandson was singing ‘ Born in the barn, a beautiful baby boy ..’ for the school nativity.

This year it’s ‘ born in the car park…’ his newest cousin our 4th grandchild was born literally in the car park. The joy excitement and sheer miracle of a tiny baby is just what we need.

The exhausted parents have recounted the drama of being sent home by the hospital only to return within minutes and too late for proper care pain relief let alone avoidance of dreadful tears and worse.

However. Clutching massive lasagnes, casseroles and hugs we’ve arrived and are very happy to try to help.

Meanwhile. Parents …mine…in some disarray due to the fact they are both getting meaningless texts from NHS land. Which they can’t open. I’ve hacked both of their portals and found numerous appointments, mainly by phone which hopefully they will pick up. Fff

On my own portal it seems I have an appointment with the RAF at UCLH on Monday at 8:30. God knows what that is. Royal Absolute F***up? Really Angry Female. I also suddenly have an MRI. on account of the fact the last two MRIs covered the wrong bit.

In addition I have a phone appointment with Infectious Diseases. Eek. That maybe because I got so cross. Oops.

But good news the NHS has signed a huge contract as in £480 million with an American company Plantar to ensure our data is shared across different sites. That’ll solve everything won’t it? The small print reads … not including GPs’ data. Oh great. Not.

Palantir Technologies Inc., the data analysis company co-founded by billionaire Peter Thiel, has won a contract to overhaul the National Health Service’s patient data system in the UK.

  1. oh Jax, what a miracle about the baby, but it sounds as a far from ideal way to go into labour. You will now be busy with baby in your arms, bottles and playing with the little toddler. feeding them etc etc. But a good distraction. xxx so much love and welcome to the world oh little one. He could be called all sorts of things from Ferrari to Saba to Richard III. what will they actually name him, I wonder. Hopefully all is ok, although it must have been uber stressful.love to all and congratulations…
