My father had been struggling with popping to the loo a lot. He refused to see a doctor. My mother refused to accept it was maybe an infection. After all what do I know? By Monday there we were in A and E. Hours later I drove them home. Via drive thru MacD. A new experience for them that they say they enjoyed! Mum wanted a drink. I don’t think orange fanta was what she had in mind! Oh and yes infection diagnosed. Antibiotics prescribed. I collected from the chemist. Left parents in the car. Hoping they didn’t escape.
Tuesday I was going to London for stitches removal from knee. Carefully carrying pee samples for me … and Daniel. Courier services IZ ME me. Private lab needed as GP service suspended.
Pee delivered. I’m hoping I got the right one with the right name on!
Knee unstitched. It looks amazing.
Wednesday elderly Labrador lost the plot and forgot to pee outside. As I keep telling Daniel that’s old age for you.
Thursday I listened to a podcast whilst driving to check Dad ok. The ‘Fortunately’ team of Garvey and Glover were interviewing Anne Tyler. Bizarrely Fi Asked her if she had a bidet. Misunderstanding the question Anne thought they meant B day as in Monday Tuesday W….. after much hilarity the answer was actually NO. ‘In the States we are a bit behind’ . That then was quickly seized upon as an excellent name for a bidet company. ‘ A Bit Behind’ !
That links nicely with a long zoom meet call about research into developing new catheters. The ancient FOLEY indwelling catheter being little changed since 1929! The lead researcher is hilarious- we ended up thinking of new names for the project : ‘Drainage Systems R GO’
Friday, as I already knew, my lab sample showed infection. Argh. Daniel’s was clear. Phew.
Onwards we go. munching antibiotics and always a bit behind
