Hotspot

Summer has arrived and lockdown restrictions are easing off. We however, live in hotspot Bedford. Goodness only knows what the rules are but caution and precaution are what we are trying to do.

The clinicians who look after me have gone very quiet. I guess they are exhausted, pissed off and hoping to have half term away from screens.

The gp surgery seems unable to send me blood test results nor msu results. The phone queuing system is permanently stuck on: you are caller number 13, for hours on end. It takes hours to get through the covid hotspot rules at the start too. In a tactical switch to email, I received a tetchy rottwieller receptionist response. :You have 300 blood tests on your record which of these do you require? I did not reply.
GP had changed the blood pressure pills but instructed blood tests to check kidney function against the new drug. b

But, as all the covid-postponed blood checks are now released it is impossible to get a blood test organised. He also, has disappeared into the ether, our Thursday chats have dissolved. I guess he is in the midst of hotspot emergency administration .

London’s Clinical Nurse Specialist tried to call but missed me and so now I have scheduled phone appointment in July. She left me a phone message to explain that I should turn off my SNS and await further instructions. The SNS charger has developed a tick and it clicks every 20 seconds.  It administers shocks during charging. Shocks down one leg…all the time. As I have not spoken to a human I have no idea if that is normal.
Not a word from Dipstick.
Broken foot: only a few more weeks until the pin is pulled out. Phew .

Moorfields check up is now 18 months overdue but a phone appointment is scheduled for August. That could be interesting. Phone call eye test check? How does that work?

UTI: still burbling and awesome consultant also has out of office reply on her emails. I keep pouring in whatever antibiotic I have to hand. Never ending cycle.

As for book – just sorting out the final bits. Formatting. Legal stuff. Cover: awesome cartoon friend said yes. Jerome, who volunteered to write something by way of an introduction is hopefully up for it. Not heard from him either. With any luck he is floating on the crate of beer I sent.
More updates soon. Sunny weekend here we come.
