Next appointment cancelled.
I have had so many emails telling me there is a message on the hospital patient portal. It’s the offspring of the big system called Epic.
Good job I am working from home it takes hours to keep up.
Stupid dam system.
Anyhow nothing has happened. In fact the latest screen shows I have no more appointments this is the screen:

So there we are then.

I have even had a letter from the hospital telling me I had a telephone appointment with Mrs Lovely Infectious Diseases Consultant (LID). The letter arrived the day after the scheduled date! Obviously.
The funny thing was Mrs LID had rung me the day before. Good job I answered the phone! ‘ No Caller ID’. ( no pun intended) She was of course lovely. She said she was following my progress or lack of, whilst I was in hospital. She was so so apologetic about all that had happened. She has given me a recipe for antibiotics for the next infection WHEN it comes. No ifs no buts …. oh and she will ring again in 2 weeks.
Good news on the vaccine front. Mrs Awesome Allergy Consultant (AA) emailed me to say. I don’t think you will be allergic. But just in case get gp to refer you to me. As and when the vaccine is available and you are eligble I will administer it. Whoop. Boris Law has told those like me, who carry ‘Epipens‘ for the just in case allergic reactions, not to have the vaccine.
Boris Law has however, allowed my parents to get vaccine. They are lined up for this Sunday at their local hospital. Hurrah. Hope that they get second dose fast and that it dam well works.
A massive logistical exercise which I am sure the exhausted NHS are coping valiantly with.
My one plea is please could Mr Hancock find a way to treat the non-covids. Clearly Covid is priority, but so is cancer and all the rest. There must be a hell of a lot out there. With or without appointments.
I do not know what the solution is . I do know a solution is needed .
Happy Vaccine Day parties need to be planned.
