What an honour to be asked to read a story for the best place in Bedford, Pavilion in the Park. A place that holds so many happy memories. Together with Rogan Books they have organised Stay at home storytime.
I read the story of Daley B. A story much loved by my children especially BFG. So much so that we quite often say: You’re a hero….to which of course the answer is: OH. I thought I was a rabbit.
Thank you to all the heroes. To make a list risks missing some out. But I must mention those in schools, hospitals, posties…..parents…grandparents…carers…..
Covid 19 is a sort of Daley B. We are full of questions. We just do not know what day of the week it is or whether we should be indoors, outdoors, opening windows, 2 metres, one hour. Golf tennis and frisbee are apparently acceptable.
We just do not know who, what or where we should be. In the story of Daley B he worried about what to eat. We- who- are- shielding worry about what food we can source via Tesco delivery. Whilst Daley B worries about his big feet, we just worry about getting mute on or off….for zoom!
Jazzy D in the story, brings panic in the woodland… he is a weasel and eats rabbits! Daley B is not bothered– and he finds out what he is – a hero!
A tenuous link, but of course Covid attacks, brings panic across the world, whilst we are definitely very bothered! There are some amazing heroes out there. Thank you massively. #Jacq-a-nory
