Discombobulated

Baby O proper poorly this week some mystery virus… Grateful as I am for NHS it has been hard to cope this week. I struggled to keep quiet when the nurse on the children’s ward suggested O produce a urine sample by peeing in a tiny pot. FFS he’s a baby. His father somehow managed to capture a pee after watching and waiting for 2 hours! I arrived a bit later to hear the nurse say he didn’t have a urine infection. Because the dipstick test which had taken place after 4 hours.. Was negative. I’m no doctor, or nurse, of course, but actually dipsticks are my specialist subject. Bloody bollocks useless test. And in answer to my question they were not going to send for a culture.. Waste of time, energy and resources.

As I left the hospital my own bladder decided to discombobulate. Desparate to find car and not let bladder empty as I made haste to my secret car park space. Slightly panicked I successfully got to mycar, stuffed cardigan down my trousers and made it home with hardly a damp patch! Cardigan in wash, meds in and what counts as normality restored.
Talking of Dipsticks I saw him with Medtronic Rep to reprogram the SNS implant.. Turns out the implant has 5 months or so til it needs replacing… So that’ll be an operation in 2020.
He also gave me a script for anti biotics on account of discombobulated bladder infection.
Just as well because the GP surgery has texted to say I need to make an appointment for medication review before they issue repeat prescriptions. So I dutifully rang to be told there were no appointments with my usual doctor. But I could see some random doc at another surgery in November. No way can that make sense.
.
Now infection has really hit. Last night my kidney had the shivers and shakes… No point in asking gp for help though. Argh.
