Whisky

Wednesday another day in London.

Bloods msu test

Scan appointment

Dipstick appointment

Jerome appointment

All in one morning. Took a bit of persuading but was arranged. Bet Jerome had something to do with that.

So, arrived. To poor geriatric receptionist, who told me Jerome was not in all day, that she had no forms for bloods and generally she was her usual waste of space.

My years of experience gave me the confidence to ring Jerome’s secretary. No answer. Emailed then. Guess what? Jerome rang and texted. He reckoned he WAS in. Well he should know.

Found a nurse. Gave her some pee.

Geriatric recep suddenly announced Dipstick wanted to see me.WHAT? It was only 10.30. My appointment with him was 11.45

Found him. He had no idea why I was there. In fact had a lengthy chat about how ill he was feeling. I prescribed whisky.

He was also worried about jury service. I told him to wear a suit not his leather jacket and earphones. Might be better to look non-normal. Maybe he wouldn’t get picked and could catch up on work instead. Ah. That’s easy he said. True enough.

We then discussed how much water I drink. Complicated by the fact I was swilling a bottle of water for the full bladder scan request. He went on and on about if you drink more you pee more. How very clever is that. Wowser. How would have thought? FFS

Worrying about the scan appointment I managed to remind him, I really should go, but that he had asked to see me following my January 3rd procedure and on Jerome’s advice.

Ah yes he said. Everything was great in January. After a while I managed to convince him it wasn’t and he needed to check me out. Suggested an MRI.

I reminded him that because of the SNS implant that HE put in I could not have an MRI.

Ah that’s very true he admitted..

Eventually got away. Got to scan..late

Returned for bloods with a friendly nurse too chatty but fine.

Grabbed a coffee then saw Jerome. He was brill and understood and listened and didn’t fuss and had even seen Dip already.

So ….long story short ..another op ..sometime…Dipstick is very busy but would be available end of May or end of June . Do I ask G.O.D. ? Too. Or leave it. Can I do this again. Argh.
