On a better painkiller regime. Works well until about 3 a.m. That’s ok. The double-dose-shivers&shakes spinal team have been super helpful trying to get me back on my feet…as it were.
On the bladder side I decided .
I better try to self medicate and get msu and bloods done urgently yesterday.
I scrambled around in the back of a drawer and found some gp forms of yore.
Off I set on a cool plan. Put the dogs in the car, then I drove to the hospital, nipped in to find the bloods queue coming out the door. And it was only 0745!
In a pre tested scheme I ripped my ‘deli-counter’ ticket from the dispenser smiled at the gathered crowd, murmuring Brie, and left.
Next stop gp. Clutching my msu I gathered inner strength to face the Rottweiler.
Hah. No queue. Labradoodle was at the desk, no sign of Rottweiler. With a smile (weird!) she took the pot without arguing . Only one person in the waiting room and all was calm. They’ve really cracked it those gps. Change the system so there are NO appointments and the surgery seems to work a lot better. !
Having gained so much extra time I gave the dogs a quick spin round the park before returning to the hospital.
Got there with 5 deli customers to go. Brilliant.
Uh oh. Lovely phlebotomist…I know them well! …you have given me the wrong form. Argh. Blood form had gone with urine. Urine was now with blood.
Shit. No worries she said. If you can get back to gp swap them then just queue jump back here. So back tracking my route. Back to Labradoodle. Still no patients at gp! Swapped forms. Laughed (!) with labradoodle and back to hospital. Queue jumped..but allowed in first a poor old lady with two black eyes.
Tah dah. Job done.
Now it’s a wait for the results. That could be anything between a week and a year. But perhaps the new gp policy of no patients has also improved the tests system! Now what antibiotics shall I choose. Mmmm Dip Dip Sky Blue …..
Talking of Dip… yep…not a word!
