I last wrote that Iwas waiting in airless room… I eventually saw the consultant. Receptionists just gave out no information. When I said I really had to go. They said I was next. But they said that to two others too. They they got stroppier. Two hours later…. Doctor found me pacing the corridor outside. It did not start well. Told me I was booked in wrong clinic. Told me I had been telephoned last week when she realised I was on the list. She said Complicated cases need more time in. a different clinic. DOH… stupid me.

Of course no one had rung. Of course I had no idea. Why would I?

Of course I had 100 texts telling me not to miss THIS appointment. TODAY.

Eventually, after I offered to leave, she did have a go at a consultation. But took so long reading through her colleagues’ notes, I nearly walked ran hobbled off. AGAIN! She was actually super nice. But I didn’t take in a word she said.

Eventually she gave me a long list of prescriptions to take to the main hospital pharmacy. Once I managed find my way out, avoid the dodgy looking clinic downstairs walk back to Euston Tower and to pharmacy queue.

Got to the pharmacy. Queued. They said 2 hour wait for drugs. I left my script. My List of allergies. Just left. I would have run but I hobbled off. Annoyed. Patients cannot. Have a life. A patient must dedicate a WHOLE day per appointment. Be well enough to sit for prolonged periods or walk about to keep back from spasmingo. Nothing to eat or drink not even water. No information. No ear defenders for tv. No privacy for the drip laden also sitting there.

No where for a lovely young mum to breast feed as she waited…good for her. She just got on with it. I gave her a thumbs up.

I ended up with a crashing headache…trains were up the creek..of course. Drugs? Nope.  They would be be in the pharmacy, gathering dust I guess.

Waste of nhs money time effort and probably makes everyone iller too. This is not cost effective efficient nor safe.

Mo Farah could run 3 marathons in the time and drink a bottle or 10 of water too.

  1. This is yet another instance when one wants to HIT SOMEBODY. So inefficient and such a waste of your time. Why can’t they be efficient. Poor you, with all the other ailments. The least you might expect is to get your foot sorted. So distressing. End of tether. Grrr.
how long does this have to go on for?
