My week….
Wednesday. A very long day in London, for a meeting at NHS headquarters.
In previous posts I have described the canteen here as the GP (Grotty Patients) receptionists- Rottweiller- School – Initiation. (RSI) Sadly did not even get to the canteen this time.
I now consider this is the Better Bladder Control (BBC) LABORATORY.
In the 4 hour meeting, no refreshments, no loo breaks, no fresh air.
I did in fact excuse myself… pathetic patient toilet (PPT) request! and intake of water /paracetamol.
We staggered out at the end to inhale the glorious south London polluted air. Crashing migraines and white as a sheet we huddled. As one surgeon commented. The propensity to develop bladder infection after such a day is extraordinarily high. The fact that it was a day FOCUSED ON on NHS and saving money spent on continence is ironic
Breaking news
8 weeks after breaking my foot I now know it’s broken in 3 places, should have been immobilsed then , but xray report got lost. Lovely kind nice chatty surgeon kept saying sorry. A serious incident has been raised and I’m now booted. Hoping to avoid operation. If only I could have had an earlier intervention it’d save the No Help Service (nhs) masses. You’d have thought I’d know how to beat the illogical system. No Clinic. No Product. No Assurance. No system. (see CaPa below)
Bladder? Yes infection there . But only Dipstick around so no help ffff. I’ve given up on the nhs urological team having been discharged into the care of Dr Dunno-why-you’re-seeing- me. see last week. So not sure what to do who to ask… what to take when how where.
Arghhhhh..
The meeting was….
The All Party Political Group (APPG) Continence and NHS England Excellence In Continence Care Board (EICC) .. I, the pathetic patient (PP) , the patient advocate for each of these, it was a milestone moment. At last some collaboration. We were joined by The Clinical and Product Assurance team (CaPA). This sits within the brand new NHS Supply Chain Towers.
I have high hopes that we can influence the personalised patient centred approach we deliberated.
Watch this space. I’m determined to fix this. #bladdered Economics is one thing but reasonable systems go a long way to fixing what is broken.
