Flat battery…update

Well this week has turned out to be  almost as much fun as last.

Monday. asthma check in London…lovely consultant but he was not on good form. Kept talking about when I saw him in November 2017. But, I did not actually meet him until March 2018. His ever efficient secretary has already sent clinic letter. But it doesn’t make sense. Refers to CT last year but was Wrong patient? Poor man looked exhausted. Not a good start to the week.

Tuesday. I had to cancel teaching and spend hours and  hours  with my dad pre re pre post crap reassessment in his hospital. Long boring nonsensical protocol. I started to play with the kids toys in the waiting area. Yep I was THAT bored and irritated.

Waiting room toys…

Wednesday was dentist. Clinic running on time. Chatter. Empathy. Laughter. Even with a mouthful of drill!

Thursday..another train ticket…another London appointment. Another cancelled meeting in order to get to this appointment,  with Dipstick. He was running on time. Wow. But for all of the five minutes he deigned to spend with me, he huffed and puffed about his wonky computer, whined that Rep and I were chatting when he is SOOOOO busy, Ms Lovely Rep said ‘I am enjoying chatting to Jacqueline ‘

His response? ‘Oh EVERYONE, likes talking to Jacqueline’

He watched lovely Ms Rep fiddle with my batteries. Doodling on his notes. He looked grumpy when I suggested I might need an msu. Ms Rep and I talked on the street outside. It is reassuring that she too was aghast at the non-consultation-consultation . So maybe it’s not just me?So 5 hours travelling for 5 minutes of grump.Wonder what he charges?

Drove to meet cousin later that day. Yes, I do try to squeeze in a non medical life. Was really good catch up. But, not great  encountering a white van reversing on a roundabout in the pitch dark as I drove home. Frrrr

Friday…day off..I think …..and fracture clinic not TIL next week…no rush…foot still broken…so that’s ok then. Would hate to waste a valuable appointment.  I was back in London Saturday yes Saturday At least the train was cheaper. I’m guessing the 24/7 NHS but poor team who have to run that clinic

This appointment was after 1000 changes of appointment letters, I’m hoping NHS can afford the stamps. It was for an appointment with urology which I was not sure I needed. As it turned out neither was the Consultant I saw.  I’m not sure why I am seeing you. He said. Well that made two of us.

Poor man started at the beginning...did I know how to use a disposable catheter to empty bladder? maybe I needed a gynaecologist? …( I did manage to say I had had a hysterectomy ie there was not a lot of point! )….maybe I should write a bladder diary? look for patterns to see if I was stressed? tired?  drinking enough water?  short term antibiotics at home ? curry? yes he really suggested that? Did I need a  rest?….residuals? voiding? try a different catheter? try …poor man .

He really tried to help.

Arghhhhh.
