Uncle to the rescue

Bad bugs on the rampage. So. I got a sample to London. This result was quickly picked up by

Jerome. But ‘mixed growth’ ie no blooming clue. Lab hasn’t tested fully just a rush job.

Today I get a text message from the new super duper GP surgery . ‘ring surgery for your latest test results’So I did.

Rottweiler receptionist responded eventually. Of course she would not give me result. As in: she withheld my result. Told me I had to make a phone appointment with a doctor. Unspecified time. Tomorrow. Previous experience in this ridiculousness has given me the strategies ….I drove to the surgery

and requested a print out of my latest results. This usually works well. Not today. The new lady on reception said she would print it. She printed pages and pages which turned out to be a list of all tests since 2oo8…lots of paper but NO RESULTS. ffs.

GP Saint P ( no pun intended) had seen me in his reception. What a hero. He rang me and asked if I was ok. I explained. He was so bloody nice told me to go back and hewould see me. Butof course I had a train to catch . I said Inwas fine and Thankyou.

So I arrived to see Uncle Montmarency microbiology but I had NO results to show him.

Uncle greeted me with a massive bear hug and a cough. Up the stairs we clomped. He in his biker boots…Seems he had bad flu not snow-in France. ( the last appointment had been cancelled as I boarded the train). He admitted to opting for the wrong flu vaccine for himself. Now, he should know better!

Uncle listened, explained, made me laugh, he has a better lab with a better form to get a better result. Perhaps ANY result. He did a brilliant impression of Dipstick banging his head on his desk muttering!
