Turned out I am booked for group follow up session. 11.00 to 15.00.

I thought it was appointment with rep for Nevro reset.
I explained ( truthfully) I had to get home for a meeting and no way could I stay til 3:00.

I neverhad  a letter about a groupie today.

V ( in my old group) arrived. Two others from another group. Psyc S  and Nurse D  running it. Nice room. No PIANO though. Eventually the session started.Some sad stories.

I tried to be sensible and showed I could move by standing up every now and again, pacing around wiggling. ( So that’s what PACING is ohhhhhhhhhh). As they had told us to do. V and I were the best at that. stand-up-sit-down-wiggle-move!!…Kept us awake anyhow! One near miss…They asked what strategies we used to cope with the frustrations of cbreakthrough pain etc. I so nearly said: my best strategy was too pour a gin! But I managed to stop myself and stifle a giggle with a cough and splutter and a stand-up-sit-down-wiggle!!

One patient explained he is ‘using’ paracetamol. That nearly set me off again. Remember that paracetamol lecture?. One hour on the side effects when we were all far more concerned about morphine tramadol and fentanyl!

Left early…had a meeting…with Daughter 2, in the twenty minutes the NHS allows her for lunch. We usually meet in one of the extra extra strong groovy artisan coffee drip pod places by the hospital. Bet the poor NHS staff need buckets for that one. She’s exhausted, pale, teary and hungry.  Needs the high caffeine fix to survive.  Stuffed soup,  cake and coffee in to her .

Actually I did have a meeting  this evening back in my teacher world! So I was telling it true.

Reception told me I have another pain(ful) appointment  next week. What for? No one seemed to know. Long explanation that the clinic codes meant different things ….And how the hell would I know that I ask myself? DNA means expulsion. FfffffArhhhhhhggghhh. All I really need is to see the rep to reprogramme the  nevro stimulator.
