Wednesday 2nd December

I digress, back to HP…We Also chatted about NHS and CMO focus on continence. This could be good news for patients . Hope to get a slot. Excellence In Continence Care (EICC) programme is gaining interest. This also links with ideas for use of technology to support patient communication collaboration and economies of scale.
Next stop was Urodynamic or a whiter shade of pale as I have called it before. This time I have to self pay …a long story. Nice little hospital St Johns Wood. Close proximity to the infamous huge hospital for spine surgeon Mr Economy -of-Words. Scene of the original bagel clutching blog. Arghh we’ve come a long way.
Anyhow confusion at reception directed to wrong place despite my protestations. Of course only the patient how would I know that? Told to drink tons water….wasn’t expecting that. Oh no. I just had had email. 2:00 at Hospital. Ooooooo Paid up but machine for visa not working. Found surgeon in the end. Yikes really late. Hoped not too annoyed ended up apologising for my tardiness. He was on phone and concerned that he’d taken someone else’s coat by mistake, then a bit of medicalness for sorting so hopefully I’d not actually held him up too much. Nice nurse. Nice chatter with fellow patient outside. We compared our awesome gowns. Why ever can they not be designed to Velcro stick. Leaping in and out of bathroom clutching gaping gowns we managed to avoid too many odd looks from passers by. One jolly porter cleverly avoided eye contact every time he passed. Goodman. Anyhow S2 was lovely considerate and matter of fact. Ie perfect. tipped the X-ray thing and me up side inside out hung onto to stop me falling off the dam thing …all ok. Discuss results next week.
PS as instructed checked next week’s appointment. Bah. …been a coq au vin up. As they say. TheSNS guy that had been arranged had not actually been booked. I need that checked. Not sure if that means rescheduling two appointments or one. Sounds expensive. Sh**. Oh, nice man from hospital rang apologising about delay. I was so confused… So used to being just the idiot patient I was worried it was me he was complaining about. Turns out S2 had asked him to ring. I just suggested maybe tell the patient where to check in get the patient to arrive early and drink water. Email info maybe. Aha technology again. Little text of detail to speed things up ? Eek and there I was thinking S2 fed up with me. Oops.
