am so sorry as I have only just found time to read this most brilliant ever of your blogs. I so emphasise with you – what a hideously frustrating abomination of a day.What exactly happens to a doctor between the stage when they are moaning about 70 hour weeks and having to emigrate, to becoming an overpaid consultant who obliviously shares his breathtaking arrogance with patient(s) sitting right in front of him? Units. We are all units, invisible until legal redress wins an infrequent victory. They get paid whether good or bad or indifferent, why not stick with indifferent? No responsibility in the public sector, NHS. No Hope of Sympathy/Support.

1 You need a publisher.

2 You need another surgeon. STAT!!! Is he the only authority in his field?

3 As a a now retired litigator highly frustrated with all things customer facing in this country, please consider bringing me with you next time. I totally get what you say about being so frustrated and upset that you couldn’t get your words/questions out. I had similar issues trying to advocate for my x when he was ill last year. Surgeons (particularly orthopaedic in my experience) behave like they are demo-gods and patronise. UGGHHH.

I can give you back language, holly **** – what are they on? Patient care 1/10 – totally crap – unbelievable – I have had urodynamics experience x 2 and it is utterly degrading – but I am sure you have been thro much worse x 100…. I just wish for your sake just one person were in ‘charge’ of you and your treatment …. bloody hell….
