Day 1 Neuromodulation Programme London draft…falling asleep more later…

amazing after all this time to find myself in the fortunate position to be able to attend Day 1 of 4 consecutive Mondays.

A long journey for some in every sense of the word.
A long day 10:30 to 3:30. But lots of chairs and mats even for those of us not quite up to being vertical for very long.
Pain Mechanisms Acute Chronic …Acute = danger
Movement
Talked about the perils of pushing on through pain.

Psychotherapist was the really nice one I’d met before. She knows SP at MK.

Physio was a man called D. interesting talk on physiology and discussions on goals exercise targets and movement generally.

Nurses amazingly brilliant well informed clearly know the various products and well used to dealing with Consultants.
Very good opportunity to engage with others even to discuss reactions to individual doctors.  Oh so perhaps it’s not just me ..!

Explanations behind the ‘magic 6 weeks’ tissue healing explained. So twisting to see blind spot in car = potential damage. Makes sense.

Yoga class syndrome. 90 year old is in the corner shaped himself into a Pretzel. What do you do? Try to do same or better! What should you do? Stay within your limits!

Homework SMART targets. Most are to walk swim work longer faster frequently. I think mine are reduce medication and reduce work. Increase swim. I know I’ll never run again. But I can swim. That needs time. Where do get time? Reduce work that’s exhausting underpaid and where someone else could easily take it on.
L was running her own PHYSIO class down the corridor. Popped to see her. Wow she’s great. What a daughter.
