Well it was all going so well.
Phone went this morning in response to my pleas for help….
written but not sent!….
Dear Montmerency 2
Thank you for ringing this morning.I am sorry to add to your inbox but in haste to try to make sure I understand.
You want me to:
- Keep you informed of progress by email or phone to K. Even though you cannot and do not answer my emails and phone calls seem to disappear into the ether. Your K tries her best to reassure me you will be in contact.
- Find out what is happening re urogyny and tell K what has been arranged. Neither you or I are sure what Mr 007 plan is, was, will be. Perhaps your other patient you muddled me with has a better idea of what the hell is going on?
- Bring msu to your office and tell K when that is. Great, train it to London take pee bottle in. Hope someone has a clue as to why I am there. Last time they did not and wondered where my ‘form’ was. I don’t know what form or how to get one. Then I will just train it all the way home again. Wonder why I get tired and broke?
- Start Nitro if infection. but then the msu will be skewed. Or maybe enjoy the stabbing agony of an infection in order to drag myself to office and hope the result is back and of course conveyed to me before I feel like slitting my throat my bladder or anything really.Any chance you could tell me how much Nitro? Dose? Duration? Nah…oh well whatever…I will think of something.
- You will speak to Montmerency 1.That is great. Montmerency 1 as you have said before, did I not know?? he is world re-knowned best microbiologist ever? well he is indeed wonderful and brilliant and ….well that is great but we all know he is tricky to pin down. Wonder if you have spoken to Mr S? Communication communication help. But why change the habit of a career and TALK to the other doctors…NAH>>>>
- I understand that you are unable to reply to emails. You tell me you have over 300 emails to read and cannot possibly reply to them all. I get that. Believe you me. I have an E in front of every bit of work I do at the moment. Each student work update gets an alert Email. I teach e Learning. I am supposed to be ( when I find the time) an E expert I support CPD using E technology and every other E you can think of. So for teachers ( fortunately I am now part time as not fit enough) think of a class size of 30 kids. 5 lessons a day. 5 days a week. that’s a minimum of 750 emails. Then staff too. Then cross Borough schools too. My emails are about 1000. So do not start belly- aching about how many emails you get. You have a secretary I don’t. My ‘customers’ expect instant replies. Ofsted expect me to evidence my feedback electronic or otherwise. Staff expect support instantly. I do not charge not get paid anything like…£250 for a five minute sit on a patient’s ( student) bed (desk).
For my part please understand that I am totally grateful for everything you and Jerome are doing to get me out of this mess. My day starts very early here whether I am working from home or have to go into work, so whilst I may sound asleep at 9 am I am likely to have been about for hours and just getting into my stride. I am juggling wider family and work, indeed huge volumes of emails too, as best I can, so my frustration at my own limitations must come across badly to you. My husbands’ alarm goes off at 5.00. He is up and away by 7. ( Don’t ask!) I meanwhile am up and away by 7 too if I am at school. As first lesson is 8 staff briefing is 7.45 and so prep is 7.15 the day can go on til 7 pm but then its home for Emarking pen marking report writing and of course answering those emails…. If working from home it is dogs, washing, computer by 8 too. …Then of course we have long holidays. Last summer I spent in Milton Keynes hospital caring for my mother and father. The summer before I spent in Oxford Ortho…caring for my father and mother yes the order does get reversed! …the holidays are so good for getting all those jobs done that we don’t have time for in term time! You see I am the main carer for …..my mother who has cancer and although marvelous Oxford made my father a new ankle now he needs a new hip(s) Knee(s) . Oh and a hernia. He feels the NHS have decided to single him out for persecution. That they have written him off and are refusing to treat him? Really? Oh how I would love a holiday. My sisters are not able to help and do not live as near as I do my brother is in Canada so a bit far away but awesome when he is here. Oh and I have 4 children…no they are not self reliant either…But don’t get me wrong I love what I do what I am and just wish I was a tiny tiny bit fitter.
Bedford GP is PW…He is very good indeed. Unfortunately his fame has meant it difficult to make appointments currently running at a month ahead. some of us have started an appointment swop and share service. So we book up ahead then if we don’t need it we cancel but tell each other first! It works well. New to the surgery is my lovely friend VC. she surely deserves a VC. We have been worried about her for some time…so using our swop and share service we got her in to see PW. Rest assured he was on her case straight away. Guess what? she had brain surgery last week….YES she did. That caused her family and us all, some sleepless nights…. And she is home already, and brave and smiling through and we all agree we can only stay positive…and we are impressed with Addenbrookes?….Quick speedy brilliant. But if she had not got to see PW where would she be.? Still waiting?
However, I digress, it is still worth you writing to GP PW and copy to me, to keep him/me up to date. Bedford hospital cannot process msu tests etc very quickly possibly because their CCG is now £40m over budget and they are I am guessing, asking GP to ‘gatekeep’ services if that means ‘cut back’.
best wishes
Jacq

- .You will speak to Montmerency 1. Sorry I forgot to ask you if you had had a chance to speak to Mr S.
- Oh well why break the habit of a career and actually talk to the other doctors.
- Oh and as for gentimicin instillations and prophylactic antibiotics…shall I?…oh never mind…I will make that up too…. self treating surely patient should just sort themselves out and not sound half asleep at 9am.
After all no one is as busy as a busy doctor….REALLY?
thank you Jacq
